Our Community has a landing spot on the Connecticut River for canoeists and kayakers. Some residents keep their watercraft near the landing area while others keep canoes and kayaks at their homes. A great paddle trip on the river starts by transporting kayaks upstream by car, truck or trailer to Pynchon Point, a small park in Agawam, MA where the Westfield River meets the Connecticut River. Parking is available at the Point and the River is just a short walk from the parking area. Click on the Pynchon Point Link above for the location.

A float and paddle downstream past Six Flags and the Nature Preserve to arrive back home at Deep Brook Harbor is a trip of around 2 hours - an easy paddle. The follow-up is to then collect the vehicle left at Pynchon Point!

The landing area is also a great place to toss in a line for some fishing on the Connecticut River.

Some of our residents are considering making improvements to the landing by adding a temporary dock, a boat storage rack, some benches and gravel paving.
